A beautiful, hushed dining room with ornate touches, the Alain Ducasse Restaurant serves wonderful French food and is known throughout the country. Set in the Essex House Hotel in New York, it won the "Best Of New York" award in both 2004 and 2005, and the dessert named Baba au Rhum could be considered world famous. Expect to pay a couple hundred dollars for a meal. It's hard to explain how fancy and wonderful the Alain Ducasse Restaurant in New York is - one example that may help is that they have a dozen different kinds of spring water. A glass of champagne starts at twenty dollars, and there are plenty of items on the menu that have truffles. Not chocolate truffles, but the real mushroom kind of truffles that you read about in novels, where a Frenchman has to find them in the woods with a pig. Really - that's what makes them so pricey (but they're delicious!) Pate foie gras is served, as well as Ostra caviar and lobster gazpacho at the Alain Ducasse Restaurant in New York. Whether you're staying at the Essex Hotel Hotel in New York, or just visiting for the evening, a meal there will be one of the fanciest (and priciest) you'll ever experience. Restaurant reservations Lunch and dinner are very popular, and
restaurant reservations are basically necessary. |
