Majestic, French
The Daniel Restaurant in New York City

If you are looking for a beautiful spot to dine, with limestone columns and huge ceilings, and want to eat amazing French food, the Daniel Restaurant in New York City is the place to go.  Plush and sparkling, often considered the best restaurant in New York City, Daniel is majestic and gorgeous.  The owner is Daniel Boulud and the chef is Jean-Francois Bruel.  Celebrities often sit in the skybox, which is enclosed in glass and sits above the kitchen.  If you sit in the skybox, you have to buy the $1000 meal, and can only get the skybox Monday through Thursday.

The dish that the Daniel Restaurant in New York City is most known for is the sea bass in potato shell.  The meat is amazing, too, often with braisings and reductions (very French).  For wine, there are over 600 wines available, and they have a great list of wine/food pairings with 20,000 bottles of wine in stock from over a dozen countries.

Restaurant reservations

Reservations are definitely required, but you don't need reservations for the bar.
