Simple beach food is now amazing fare. The mussels in cream sauce
are incredible, as is the cod sandwich, crab cake and lobster roll, and
the fired oyster. Grilled whole fish is amazing (it's at the market
price), and the rest of the food is wonderful and affordable. The
scallops are amazing, and many people think the Pearl Oyster Bar is the
best seafood restaurant in New York City City. It's expanded into the
next door but people still line up. The lobster and seafood rolls
may be the best in the world. Reservations are a good idea.

Terrific food, all seafood options, you'll wind up spending $40/person,
but note that the lobster is $30 (prixe fixe). The waiters are
wonderful and the appetizers are huge, the entrees even bigger.
Great crab cakes. Only positive things to say about Mare Seafood
Restaurant in New York City. Cheesecake is wonderful, and everything is
super-fresh. Oysters are especially good. They have outside
tables, too. Reservations not mandatory, but requested.

Right in the middle of the
restaurant is a shrine to the owner's parents (he's also the chef) - it's
a fake fireplace with family photos. Cool! Very loyal patrons
love this classic seafood restaurant. The best entree is the lobster
roll - yum! Nice wine list, the seafood crepe and stuffed haddock
are wonderful. The steamers and the raw oysters are great, too.
Reservations not needed, but are a good idea on the weekends.
